BLUES GUITAR LEGEND STAN WEBB IS BACK
“The best British Blues guitarist I’ve seen” – Freddie King
It was back in 1965 that then legendary guitar hero Stan
Webb first put together Chicken Shack before heading
to the Star Club in Hamburg.
2 years later Christine Perfect (aka McVie & later of Fleetwood Mac) joined them and they triumphed at the prestigious 8th National & Jazz Blues Festival. Barely a year later she left just as the band topped the charts with ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’.
Over the next 4 decades Stan became a star in Europe (returning to the UK in the 80’s to play with Clapton) before a 2008 career defining 40 date UK Theatre tour with John Mayall and Mick Taylor, including a memorable Hammersmith Odeon show. Finally Stan was back in fashion!
He also cut his best ever live CD “Still Live After All these Years”.
Stan Webb remains a master guitarist with big toned psychedelic tinged rock blues and scintillating slide runs that mark him out as unique.
