At present without doubt the leading Jimi Hendrix Tribute!
The Hendrix Alive Project started back in november 2006 when Peter van Kouteren invited Eelco Bisschop to start a Jimi Hendrix coverband. He'd been looking around for the right musicians for years, but untill 2006 he couldn't find anyone. Eelco was enthusiastic about the plan, so they made a setlist of more then 35 Hendrix songs to perform. Soon after that Rob Meijran joined the band as drummer and the rehearsal sessions started. Within a couple of months they had their first gig in IJmuiden, Europe’s biggest fishers port, central situated in the region Kennemerland, next to the Newcastle Ferry birth, which was immediately a big succes. Not much later they joined in for The Battle of the Coverbands competition and they easily won the qualification round. The band has got more less the same sound as Hendrix himself and the live performances are wild, loud and rough. Gigs and touring from North to South of the Netherlands, has polished HAP, from a raw uncut diamond to a sparkling jewel amongst the Tribute bands.
