"I always wanted to
try the power trio thing,
like Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Paladins or Jimi Hendrix”
New CD ‘Diamonds in the Dirt’ on Ruf
Direct from her sell out Young generation Blues tour and 2010
‘Black Pearl and White Sugar’ tour with Eric Sardinas, Joanne Shaw
Taylor is a star in the making.
For someone so young she’s already played with a cast of stellar musicians
from BB King and Dave Stewart (she signed to his label at 16) to Bill Wyman
and beyond. Last year she appeared in the acclaimed Deep Blues film in Mississippi
and recorded with some legendary players such as R.L Burnside and Jesse-Mae
Hemphill. Think Albert Collins meet Stevie Ray Vaughan. Her new ‘Diamonds
in the Dirt’ CD is a superb follow up to 'White Sugar' – Produced
by the legendary American producer Jim Gaines (Santana/Trout/Hooker/Thorogood),
it is full of burning guitar playing and like the live show, includes funky
shuffles, soulful ballads and sizzling SRV style rock/blues. Her band includes
the remarkable McMahon Brothers from VIRGIL & THE ACCELERATORS (average
age 16 and a half), who are also on the brink of exploding on to the scene in
their own right.
“She plays with more attitude and flare than most.
Massive potential here. Inspiring"- Guitarist magazine
"Joanne IS the new face of the blues"- Blues Matters
