John Idan

Born in Detroit, Michigan, John Idan formed his first pro band "The Natural Blues Band" in the US before holidaying in the UK and meeting up with former Yardbirds guitarist Top Topham and drummer Jim McCarty. He immediately hit it off with the duo and joined their band becoming known "Detroit" John Idan.

In 1992 John left the McCarty Band and formed "Realfire" and started writing songs. When The Yardbirds reformed in 1994 John was asked to be their lead vocalist and bass player. He recorded two albums with them, the all star "Birdland" and "Live at BB King's" and toured the world several times.

Now John is stepping out on his own exploring a wide range of rock, soul, folk and country on his self-produced debut solo album 'The Folly' on which he plays all instruments. For tonight gig he will be unveiling his brand new band.
