NEW ALBUM LAUNCH & 10th ANNIVERSARY SHOW
Detroit Rock/Blues guitarist and soulful singer Marcus
Malone has voice of Paul Rogers and the guitar tone
of Walter Trout, or in the words of Soundcheck magazine;
Launching his new ‘'Let the Sun Shine In” album
and with slide guitarist Stuart Dixon in the band, “Marcus Malone
is a magnificent fusion of Bad Company meets Robert Cray - that is to say he
is soulful, ouses blues, plays guitar like an angel and the rockier side of
his magnificent 'Blue Radio' album sounds like Paul Rogers".
Marcus Malone is a heavyweight rock/blues musician who started his career has included signing with UA/Capital records in Detroit to playing the Albert Hall with BB King some 10 years later.
Marcus originally made his name in Los Angeles as a hard rock
guitarist, cutting the impressive "MARCUS" album, which featured Gene
Black (now with Joe Cocker) on guitar and Tim Bogart (Vanilla Fudge) on bass
and established him as a real presence on the rock circuit.
The sought after album was re-released at the end of September 2001 on Zoom
Records throughout Europe and the US.
Since relocating to Europe to pursue his true love of the blues, he has played
all the main blues festivals as well as appearing twice at the Albert Hall three
years ago.
"His songs and performance manage to bridge the distance between contemporary and vintage, blues, blues rock and soul" Blues review USA
Marcus immediately made an impression with his debut Euro album,
"One More Time" which was released in January 2000 and provided a
cut for the 'Blueprint 1999 -The Best of The British Blues' album.
The follow up 'Walkin' Shoes'- album further extended his fan base, with the
track 'Take It To Heart' being on Blueprint 2002 - 'The Best of British Blues'.
Together with a virtuoso young international band Marcus has rightly been acclaimed
as "simply a magnificent player” - Concerto Vienna, Austria
And while ‘Blues Radio’ helped him break into Europe,
his last album ‘Hurricane’ proved to be his best seller and again
received great reviews.
