OTIS GRAND PLAYS EXCLUSIVE LONDON SHOWS
Promoting
his brand new blues chart album “Hipster Blues",
on Proper Records, the award winning blues guitarist/producer/band leader Otis
Grand retuns with a bang.
Reaction to the new album has been excellent, with Blues in Britain Magazines
giving it a 10/10. It is No.1 in the Blues charts in Blues Connections
, whilst the Influential Blues & Rhythm Magazine chose it as CD
of the month.....
Recently selected by Guitar Magazine as one of the Top 10 Blues Guitarists in
Britain - along side Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Alexis Korner - Otis also
remains in the vanguard of contemporary blues, bringing a good time, big band
party style to some brilliant , early BB King style, dance floor friendly blues.
Otis is the original gentle giant of the blues, of course is aware of the musical
heritage and pays due homage to the likes of the blues greats, but adds his
own contemporary spin, and also brings a fresh approach to a new blues style
that also pays attention to the likes of BB, Albert & Freddie King alongside
Buddy Guy, SRV, Joe Louis Walker, and newer talents such as Anson Fundergerg,
Duke Robbilard & Ronnie Earl!
Critics have already claimed it to be "...one of the best contemporary
blues records heard for a long, long time". (Source: Tony
Burke - Editor , Blues & Rhythm Magazine )
With a powerful horn led horn section, Otis Grand brings with him former Ike
Turner/Albert King vocalist Jimmy Thomas from St Louis
to front his Big Blues band – a mix of early BB King style, West Coast
Swing & Deep Blues, Grand style!
