A bone crunching guitarist a rock blues colossus, street poet, fierce vocalist,
producer and larger than life character Popa Chubby carries the persona of the
heavyweight champion of the world. Born in the Bronx, the former busker Ted
Horowitz has become the Rock Blues King of New York City and he’s heading
your way soon.
He originally made his name with Richard Hell, & Voidoids, being reborn
as Popa Chubby in 1990 when he won the National Blues Talent Search playing
the 1991 Long Beach Blues Festival.
In 1994 cut his debut Booty and The Beast & the 1995 hit single “Sweet
Goddess Of Love and Beer". Mid 90’s Chubby appeared with Walter Trout
on the Dutch Jimi Hendrix tribute project & later cut the legendary ‘Electric
Chubbyland’. The rest as they say is history!
