Supported Arthur "God of Hell Fire" Brown recently at the Bull's Head
Steve has been writing songs since the age of 15. At 18 he joined his first band, "Shameless", and for the next 2 years regularly performed in pubs and clubs in and around London.
In 1992 he co-wrote the musical "Waiting For The Moon" with David Mears. The show toured fringe theatres for several months that year and was performed by the Kite Touring Company.
In 1995, Steve went to America and got a job singing in "Bahas club" in Virginia. It was here that he developed a successful one man show which he continued to perform on his return to England.
1998 saw the recording of the first album "The English Man" featuring Steve Penney on drums and Chris Cowley on Bass Guitar.
Other than the occasional "Shameless" reunion and a brief spell in a pub duo, Steve remains a solo acoustic performer and can regularly be seen in venues in and around London.
