THE RETURN OF WALTER TROUT & Band
+ POSSIBLE SPECIAL GUESTS: The TROUT BROTHERS
Walter Trout, is one of the world’s
great guitarists. The former lead guitar player with John Mayall Blues
Breakers, Canned Heat and John Lee Hooker recently
celebrated his 20th year as a solo recording artist in his own right with the
chart busting album ‘Common Ground’.
Trout who also reached the top of the Blues charts with the all star ‘Full
Circle’ album and the follow up ‘The Outsider’ has been touring
the world – including India, Russia Europe and the States. His live shows
are mesmerising, his guitar technique dazzling and his rapport with fans both
funny and intense.
Trout is in the UK to headline a couple of festivals and as ever he’s
reaching out to his fans with yet more live dates.
A BBC poll placed the Stratocaster master at number six on their list of the
Top 20 guitarists of all time, while the legendary BBC disc jockey, Bob Harris,
in his book "The Whispering Years" calls Trout: "The world's
greatest rock guitarist." (p. 186).
He’s feted in both Holland (where he enjoyed a number one single) and
Denmark and has finally gained recognition in his own USA.
But above all Walter is a ‘players’ player as evidenced by the roll
call of top players on his new ‘Common ground’ CD.
The supporting cast includes drum great Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, John
Fogerty, Elton John, etc.), bassist Hutch Hutchinson and pianist Jon Cleary
(both of Bonnie Raitt's band), and famed producer John Porter, whose credits
span from Brit-pop legends the Smiths to John Lee Hooker and B.B. King to Santana.
For his live shows Walter relies on an equally top line-up with Sammy
Avila on keys, lead guitarist tuned bassist Rick Knapp
on bass and powerhouse Michael Leasure on drums.
**Watch out for a possible appearance by his sons THE TROUT BROTHERS, who pick
up their musical talent from their brilliant axe wielding Dad.
Come and experience Walter Trout in an intimate club surroundings. It doesn’t
get any better than this!
