The
Zyderythmics are causing Zydeco fans everywhere to get down on the floor and
groove.
Their debut at Bury Louisiana Festival in November 2003 caused Chris Hall (of
Swampmusic and Paul McCartney Band fame) to comment "One of the finest
debuts I have seen by a band in the UK". Since then they have been described
as "brilliant", "fantastic", and from the promoters of the
Upton Swamp Festival "triumphant". Led and inspired by Phil Underwood,
they storm through numbers from Chris Ardoin, Clifton Chenier, Geno Delafose,
Boozoo Chavis, and other great Zydeco players from Louisiana, and even manage
to fit in a few of their own. You can’t sit down when the Zyderythmics
are on stage!
