Paul Godden and fiddle player wife Jean’s band `Ponchartrain` has long been a mainstay of the Bristol rockabilly, country and blues scene in Bristol. And Paul has long played lap steel guitar with renowned Cardiff based country/rockabilly outfit `The Rimshots`, veterans of many US and European tours. Singer and virtuoso, slide/guitar and mandolin player Paul played slide guitar on two albums with Van Morrison and is a sought out session player. He has a long association with singer, guitarist/harmonica player Doc Stenson. Doc’s music is rooted in 1930’s blues, country and jazz, as well as playing in rock and blues bands in the 1980’s and backing US blues stars like Lowell Fulson and Lazy Lester. Influences range from Lonnie Johnson, top Little Walter and T Bone Walker. They have a long track record of club, festival, broadcasting and recording work, accumulating a large repertoire of songs and instrumentals.
